Bottom Feeding For Dollars

Newspapers are going broke because of their current inability to secure readers.

Everyone is wondering what to do to “turn the situation around”. Leave it to a bottom feeding lawyer to figure out a way … sue people!

If you’re going to use content… follow Fair Use policies and just quote appropriate excerpts of a column then link back.

If you don’t you might be visited by a bottom feeder.

Even then, you might want to familiarize yourself with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act:

DMCA Title II, the Online Copyright Infringement Liability Limitation Act (“OCILLA”), creates a safe harbor for online service providers (OSPs, including ISPs) against copyright liability if they adhere to and qualify for certain prescribed safe harbor guidelines and promptly block access to allegedly infringing material (or remove such material from their systems) if they receive a notification claiming infringement from a copyright holder or the copyright holder’s agent.

Bottom feeders though like to overlook such niceties and feel you’d rather settle for a few thousand dollars than go to Federal court with its maze of regulations.
