Can you make millions of dollars from your drawings? Probably not. Could you still make a viable secondary income from something you love to do like drawing? That depends on many factors, but if you already have some raw talent and enjoy drawing – you may be one of those rare individuals who can actually get paid to draw.
The issue when you want to get paid to draw is that typically people do DO have some drawing ability is that they do not have a market for their work.
Now there are companies online that do pay people for certain kinds of drawings but developing a customer base of happy people who are willing to pay you again and again and pay well – now that requires some initiative and marketing on your part. Unfortunately whether people want to learn how to get paid to draw or get paid to do anything as a home business, the fact that success requires persistence and personal follow through causes many lazy complainers to cry “scam”!
But for people who love to draw, who want to be “pointed in the right direction” and who realize that long term success depends on one’s own ability ultimately to deliver a product and make customers happy and develop long term relationships to develop long term income, getting paid to draw is not an impossibility. Many entrepreneurs try a number of ways to make money before they find their groove. So learning how to get paid to draw may be the grove for you – or perhaps more likely – another thing you do to learn about yourself, your skills, and what it takes to build your business but it may not ultimately be the niche you settle into.
The companies wanting this work done change on a regular basis and for the average person who does not know where to look, they seem well nigh impossible to find…. But the ARE out there.
Learning who they are, what they require and how to do business with them is the key and beyond the scope of this article. Suffice it to say that if you are willing to do the search, have basic drawing or painting skills, internet access, and usually some tools that allow you to scan and edit images, you are well on your way to exploring how one might feasibly get paid to draw.
One thing that is attractive to all would be entrepreneurs – especially those who would like to get paid to draw is the question… “Do I just get paid once?”
There are companies that actually license your artwork. As often as the artwork is licensed by a firm, website, etc, the artist is paid a residual commission or royalty. In the music industry they call that “mailbox money”… a check in the mail for work you did long ago. I don’t know about you, but that is an attractive feature I look for in ANY opportunity. Thankfully those who wish to get paid to draw have the opportunity for ongoing residual income.
How does one start getting paid to draw? In the internet age, I suggest joining a membership site that is frequently updated, offers a lifetime membership for one price, and which offers you AT LEAST 60 days to “kick the wheels” and see if the person joining is, indeed, satisfied with the information provided. One gauge of customer satisfaction is, of course, the refund rate. This company, according to the independent third party marketplace for products like this, Clickbank, indicates that since the company’s initial founding in August 2006, there has been only a 0.1% refund rate. That seems to show a significant level of satisfaction.
Of course those purchasing the course should make certain it fits their needs. As mentioned before, not everyone who likes the mere thought that they might get paid to draw can actually make significant income at it!
